Jamestown Invest 2Q 2021 Survey Results

We recently surveyed our Jamestown Invest audience to learn more about their alternative asset allocation plan and which private real estate investment best fits their immediate interest. Our Investor Relations Team has summarized a few takeaways from the survey:

  • Over half of our audience has 10% or less of their portfolio allocated to private real estate investments.
  • Over a third of our audience has never invested in commercial real estate investment offerings before.
  • A majority of respondents plan to add more private commercial real estate as part of their overall portfolio strategy in 2021.
  • Most respondents prefer a diversified CRE fund with existing assets.
  • Multifamily and Healthcare are the most favored asset classes, with Hotel and Retail properties receiving the least amount of votes.

The NPI is a quarterly, composite total return for private commercial real estate properties located in the United States. The NPI includes operating office, retail, industrial, apartment, or hotel properties accounted for on a market value basis and includes the impact of leverage employed on the properties in the index. The NPI Levered Index is illustrative of historical average annualized commercial real estate returns on a gross property level leveraged basis, and these historical returns may not be indicative of future results.
